Teton Pass has become a Mecca for backcountry skiers and snowboarders. In 1998 we created the Ski and Ride Wyoming 22 stickers to celebrate this local treasure and as a way to give back to those who make it possible for the rest of us to safely recreate there. We donate 2% of our net profits from these stickers to a local non-profit of our choice. Recipients include the Bridger Teton Avalanche Center, Teton County Search and Rescue, Friends of Pathways' Ambassador Program and others.
The Tetons received their first significant snowfall beginning yesterday and hopefully this storm is a harbinger of a good season ahead. As of 2:30 this afternoon, Rendezvous Bowl had received 16 inches of new snow, according to the Summary of Automated Weather Station Data at jhavalanche.org.
Looking to the future, I happened across this image (I think it’s from NOAA) showing the typical jet stream pattern and seasonal weather conditions observed across the US during moderate to strong La Niñas.
